But if you can see life as a challenge, if you can see the wonder in even the smallest things, if you smile and laugh easily…then your life will be a heck of a lot better.
Many years ago I had the honor of working with a lady who is now gone from this existence. She loved life. She found pleasure in everything and was always smiling. And it wasn’t because she had an easy life either. Nothing was handed to her on a silver platter. She worked hard and was no stranger to misfortune; having lost both her husband and her only child by the time she was fifty. But I always remember her eating her breakfast and her favorite was bran muffins. She loved them. She would take a bite and then go on and on about how good the muffin was. I asked her why she would get so excited about a little thing like a bran muffin and I always remember what she said to me…”It’s being grateful for the little things that pave the way for the bigger things to come your way.”
I always remembered that, and Marie.
God bless you, Marie, where ever you are now I’m sure there are bran muffins involved:)
