When you see someone begging on the street instead of yelling out something like “oh c’mon why don’t you just get a job already?” why not offer a smile and a nod and some spare change if you can.
We are so quick to judge, to see what only is on the surface without getting the whole picture. We never really know what somebody else is going through although sometimes we act like we do.
The acid test here is to ask yourself if you’d like to be ridiculed if it were you standing on the corner with a sign. Would you want somebody making snide remarks about you in your hour of need or would it sting you like a hundred bees?
If you start to hear buzzing then there’s your answer. If you can’t help then don’t hurt.
