It’s Like Trying To Fill A Bottomless Pit

DSC01639_0048It’s like trying to fill a bottomless pit- looking for things outside yourself to make you happy. And you know what I’m talking about because it usually goes something like this…

You have an old car that doesn’t run very well and is in need of almost constant repair. It also doesn’t look very nice anymore and frankly you’re embarrassed when you pull up to that stoplight and right next to you is a brand new car.

All you can think about is that brand new car now. Your life will be so much better when you get it.Yes, life will be more exciting and rewarding when that new beauty is parked in your garage. You’ll feel better. You’ll look better. People will admire you and be jealous. You’ll be able to go wherever you want to go and whenever you want to as well. You can’t wait!

So now you got your car. You take it home. You show it off. You drive it around the block. Then you put it in your garage. Going into the house, you sit down on the couch and think to yourself “You know, life would be so much better if I just had a bigger apartment. I would feel better and look better. Life would be more exciting…

Sound familiar?

Life will never be more rewarding or exciting until you learn to appreciate what you already have.

This story is based on actual events that happened to me:)
