Are You One?

990108468_012Are you one…a good friend? Are you there when someone needs you to lend a sympathetic ear and a shoulder to cry on? Are you there to offer a smile and words of encouragement?

Or are you always “busy” when someone needs your help? Or do you try to “one up” people in their misery- “oh yeah, I don’t know why YOU’REĀ  complaining- let me tell you about MY problems!”

Your attitude and actions towards others will make all the difference. They will either ensure that others will be there to help you in your time of need or they will ensure that you left standing alone.

Are You Using the Right Ones?

35920007Are you using the right ones whether you think about them or say them out loud….I’m talking about your WORDS.

What does that little voice inside you say? Does it say things like “I can do this” or “this mistake will help me to do things differently next time?”

And when you speak out loud do you say things like “good job” or “thanks so much”

If the words that run through your mind or come out of your mouth are uplifting and positive then your life experiences will be in the same vein. If not, then your life will mirror the spirit of those words as well. So which will you choose?

Are You Paying It Forward?

990108468_034are you paying it forward? Are you giving before you receive? Have you tried it?

Paying it forward sets up a positive vibration that helps propel you through your day. I often will pay the toll for the people behind me. I know some of the toll collectors and they have told me that the person behind me smiles ear to ear, and then proceeds to pay for the person behind them. One of the collectors told me this went on one day for an hour!

I know I feel so good when I do this that it just lights up my day. I believe by doing this not only have I helped, in some small way, to brighten up another person’s day but I’ve done wonders for my own as well.

Are You Doing it?

990205258_012Are you stopping to think…before you get mad? Before you say or do something you may regret, before you say words you can never take back think first. Yes, I know it’s difficult; its your first impulse to just say “the hell with it” and then just say whats on your mind.

Do you really want to throw that vase? Once you break it you won’t have it anymore and you really like it. Plus you’ll have to clean it up.

Do you really want to say those words? You know they hurt. You know they cut like a knife. You can never take them back once they’re out of your mouth. You may never be able to soothe those wounds.

Stop…think…be silent. If you still feel the same way later you can always get mad then, but I’ll bet you won’t want to.

Where Does Your Passion Lie?

8d6fd6c2-d53d-4db9-bdf8-8cbe806dc354_0034Where does your passion lie? What really makes your heart leap when you think of it? You know the feeling I’m talking about… and you feel like a million dollars when you speak of it and you can speak about it for seemingly hours.

Is that the direction your life is taking? Are you routinely engaged in activities that spark your passion, in activities that give you purpose and a reason to smile so big you think you’re going to crack your face?

Or are you just going through the motions everyday wishing you could just throw the covers over your face and forget about the new day?

Take time today to find ways to make your passion part of your everyday life. It is worth the time.

Step Up!

35920118Step up…to a new you. Go ahead, climb those stairs one at a time, one foot in front of the other, eyes fixed on what you want in life.

Keep those eyes straight ahead. You may see fear to the side. Acknowledge him but keep going. You may see jealousy on the other side… just keep walking.

Keep going up, up, up. You can do it, with every step see how much stronger you feel, how much better and how much happier.

Have You Tried It?

990204522_019Have you tried it…meditation? Now don’t laugh, spending time in quiet contemplation makes you feel better and when you feel better you do better.

You don’t have to stand on your head or sit twisted up like a pretzel, although, if you decide too, more power to you. No, you can sit in a comfortable chair and listen to soft music and let your mind drift. You can take a walk in the park and focus on the green grass, the blossoming trees and kids laughing and playing nearby.

Make time to spend time in quiet contemplation. It is not a waste of time, but in fact, just may enrich your life in ways you never thought possible. Do it as often as you can.
